Michael L. Guinn, President
Louisiana Auctioneer’s Association
My name is Michael L. Guinn, and it is truly an honor to serve as President of the Louisiana Auctioneer’s Association. I am blessed to share this
journey with my wife, Kallie, and our children—Michael Jr., Samantha, Noah, Ava, and Isaac—all of whom play a part in our family business, Guinn Auction Company. Our company was founded by my father,
John E. Guinn, and continues today with my brothers, Daniel and Conner, working alongside us. We specialize in heavy equipment, oilfield, vehicles, and government surplus auctions.
Growing up in the auction industry and working side-by-side with my father created some of my most meaningful memories. Those early experiences not only
taught me the value of hard work but also instilled in me a deep appreciation for the live auction tradition that defines our profession.
As we look to the future, we face challenges such as declining membership, a rising average age among auctioneers, and the gradual shift away from live
auctions. I believe it is more important than ever to encourage and involve our youth—to share with them the excitement, skill, and community that come with the live cry auction. It’s our
responsibility to ensure that this craft, which has been the heartbeat of our industry, is not forgotten.
I look forward to connecting with each of you at our upcoming convention, hearing your ideas, and working together to strengthen our association and
preserve the legacy of Louisiana auctioneering.
Thank you for your continued support,
Michael L. Guinn
